Ciekawostki o fizykach
Bohr Nils Henrik Dawid (1885 – 1962)
- Bezpośredni i serdeczny, co zjednywało mu
przyjaciół.
- Wnikliwie i dokładnie analizował każdy problem.
- Często wydawało się, że nie rozumie pozornie
prostych spraw, dopiero później okazywało się jak wiele nowych,
niezauważonych problemów odnajdywał.
- Pasjonował go sport. Był znanym piłkarzem, co
zjednywało mu dużą popularność.
- Bardzo lubił jeździć na nartach.
Compton Artur
(1892 – 1967)
- Wiele podróżował, obarczony ciężką aparaturą
pomiarową (badał natężenie promieniowania kosmicznego w różnych miejscach
Ziemi).
- Był aresztowany w Meksyku, jego przyrządy uznano
za niebezpieczne bomby.
- Popularność zdobył również poprzez sukcesy
sportowe, a zwłaszcza dzięki mistrzowskiej grze w tenisa.
- Był także znakomitym gitarzystą.
Skłodowska-Curie Maria (1867 – 1934)
- Pochodziła
z bardzo licznej, biednej rodziny, miała dziesięcioro rodzeństwa.
- Zmarła
jej matka, gdy miała 11 lat.
- Dwukrotnie
wyróżniona Nagrodą Nobla za osiągnięcia naukowe. Po
raz pierwszy w roku 1903 z fizyki wraz z mężem Piotrem
Curie za badania nad odkrytym przez Antoine Henri Becquerela zjawiskiem promieniotwórczości, a drugi raz w roku 1911
z chemii
za wydzielenie czystego radu.
- Do
dziś (początek 2007 roku) pozostaje jedyną kobietą, która nagrodę Nobla otrzymała
dwukrotnie.
- W Paryżu,
w 1891
Maria zdała jako pierwsza kobieta w
historii egzaminy wstępne na wydział fizyki i chemii Sorbony.
- Była
pierwszą kobietą - profesorem
Sorbony.
- W
czasie I wojny światowej Maria została
- Stanowili
z mężem Piotrem wzorowe małżeństwo.
Curie Piotr (1859
– 1906)
- Wraz
z Marią otrzymał nagrodę Nobla za prace nad zjawiskiem
promieniotwórczości.
- Był
niesłychanie skromny i całkowicie oddany nauce.
- Skarżył
się przyjaciołom na swoją sławę.
- Chętnie
udostępniał innym wyniki swoich prac.
- Ciągle
borykał się z trudnościami materialnymi.
- Ginie
śmiercią tragiczną przejechany przez wóz konny.
Dalton John (1766
– 1844)
- Dokładny
i wnikliwy eksperymentator, wykonał 200 000 zapisów obserwacji
meteorologicznych meteorologicznych w ciagu 57 lat.
- Cierpiał
na wadę wzroku, polegającą na nierozróżnianiu barw (daltonizm).
- Zafascynowany
językiem ojczystym napisał gramatykę języka angielskiego.
Einstein Albert
(1879 – 1955)
- Był
nieśmiałym, mało towarzyskim dzieckiem.
- Bardzo
późno nauczył się mówić.
- Uczył
się jedynie tego, co go najbardziej interesowało.
- Sam
dobierał sobie lektury.
- Nie
miał zdolności do języków obcych.
- Miał
zostać nauczycielem.
- Lubił
samotność, wiele czasu spędzał sam na długich spacerach.
Faraday Michael
(1791 – 1867)
- Urodził
się w biednej rodzinie kowala.
- Był
Wielkim Samoukiem, uczył się ciągle sam.

w wieku czternastu lat na naukę do introligatora i sprzedawcy książek,

(1879 – 1960)
- Ojciec jego był generałem w armii pruskiej,
dlatego cała rodzina wiele podróżowała. Kilka lat spędzili również w
Poznaniu.
- Walczył o uwolnienie uwięzionych profesorów
krakowskich uczelni.
- Zginał w tragicznym wypadku samochodowym.

Pauli Wolfgang
(1900 – 1958)
- Był fizykiem teoretykiem. W związku z tym w
laboratorium widziano go niezbyt chętnie.
- Wśród fizyków krążyły opowieści o tzw. „efekcie
Pauliego”. Polegał on na tym, że ilekroć słynny teoretyk pojawił się w
pracowni, psuły się przyrządy, a doświadczenia nie udawały się.
